Homeward Bound Pet Shelter
In July 2005, Homeward Bound became a division of Macon Resources, Inc. (MRI). It's a great partnership that helps pets and people with disabilities.
The mission of Homeward Bound Pet Shelter is to shelter and rehabilitate relinquished cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies until they can be permanently adopted into loving homes.
We try to maintain a stress-free environment for our cats and dogs while they wait for their new families. Cats are free to roam in their rooms, and dogs have visiting rooms and a fenced outside play area.
All animals are spayed/neutered, kept up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. Plus, they’ve been tested for heartworms or feline leukemia/FIV and kept on monthly flea control and heartworm protection.

Hold/processing fees can be paid by phone with a debit/credit card. Cash or check also accepted.

The 8th annual WOOFSTOCK will be Saturday, June 15 from 9:00am - 2:00pm at Macon Resources, 2121 Hubbard Avenue in Decatur. It's tons of dog-gone fun for the entire family!
- Rescued Paws on Parade - 10:00am. If you are a shelter/rescue dog, we invite you to strut your stuff. Reserve your spot by emailing: hbpsevents@maconresources.org or call 875-1910 and ask for Jenny.
- Pooch Parade - 11:00am. Best Trick and Best Dressed Contests
- Demonstrations by Decatur Obedience Training Club - 9:15 and 12:15
